Beaches, diving, sailing
Kalkan has a small pebble beach and four beach clubs, set out on platforms cut from the rocks. The nearest sandy beach Kaputas which is a 10 minute drive on the beautiful coastal road toward Kas, the nearest town. The famous Patara beach, the 'birthplace of Santa Claus' has over 18km of golden sand and is a 25-minute drive.
For the more energetic, Kalkan has it's own PADI registered dive centre based at the Kalamar beach club. Owned by Altan and his wife Vicky, they can offer diving courses from beginners to advanced. Visit them at www.kalkandiving.com
You can also hire your very own crew and gullet for the day, where you will sail around the bay, stop off a various points for a swim before enjoying a delicious lunch on board.
